Cat Hat Walking Tours
Free tours do not have a set price; instead, each person gives the guide at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
We are a cooperative of paceño guides sharing the soul of La Paz.
Who we are: We're not a company. We're a collective. Run by local guides who grew up in the alleys, markets, and teleférico lines of La Paz — so that tourism money stays with the people who tell the stories.
Our mission: Share local traditions co-designed with communities. Empower local voices — 70% of what you pay goes straight to your guide and host communities. Showcase the real La Paz: Witches' Market at sunrise, street art in Chualluma, and quiet miradores where the Illimani hits different.
Our signature walks: Heights & Heritage · Markets & Memory · Altiplano After Dark.
The Cat Hat promise: You'll know us by the knitted cat-ear hats our guides wear — handmade by women from El Alto cooperatives. When you book, you're not just taking a tour. You're joining a circle.
